Rollgrinders

Rolls in paper and steel mills require the highest possible surface quality and smoothness  achievable normally only by grinding. However, already extremely low vibration levels will disturb roll grinder operation and cause unacceptable traces on the roll surface. Such low vibration levels may be caused by other machines or equipment, like cranes etc., or general traffic in the neighbourhood. A high quality vibration control of such roll grinders is, therefore, inevitable.

In the design of such a vibration controlled system  not only the right selection of springs and dampers is necessary , but also the right design of the machine foundation itself. Deformation by load and temperature are  important factors and have to be taken into account.

GERB Spring – Viscodamper Systems have been successfully used for the elastic support of such roll grinders over decades, and in addition GERB Engineering will design the foundations too optimally.
